About Our Taiyaki

In Japan taiyaki is sold from street stalls and eaten on the walk home, and that is exactly how we treat it. The batter is poured into the mold, filled, then pressed and cooked until the shell just sets, giving you a thin crisp edge and a tender, cake-like centre.

Our custard filling is smooth and gently sweet rather than heavy, so it finishes a savoury meal without overwhelming it. It travels well too, which makes taiyaki a favourite add-on for takeout orders and catering trays across northeast Calgary.
